The main aim of this study is to develop a scale to measure the psychosocial characteristics of gifted students. Firstly, in order to form the scale, literature review was made to define the conceptual framework related to psychosocial characteristics of gifted students. The work group of the study was 163 students from fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth grades attending Science and Arts centers in Isparta, Konya and Burdur. In the development phase of the study, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis was applied, item discrimination was determined and Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient was calculated respectively. In consequence of exploratory factor analysis, 55.30% of the total variance was explained. The contribution of the factors to the explained variance varies between,”11.91%” and “17.85%”. In the confirmatory factor analysis conducted to confirm the four-factor structure of the scale, Chi-square value (?² = 248.71, sd = 164, p = 0.00) was found to be significant. On the other hand, compliance index values was found as RMSEA=.052, CFI=.95, IFI=.95, AGFI=.85. In the light of those values, it can be indicated that four-factor structure is appropriate for the scale. Cronbach Alpha internal consistency reliability coefficients were .78 for the whole scale, and internal consistency coefficient for Social Skill factor was .77, Perfectionism factor was .85, Empathy factor was .66, Self-Confidence factor was .78 in the research. Test-retest reliability for the overall scale was .71, and two halftest reliability for the whole scale was .73. As a result of findings obtained from the research, it can be stated that PsychoSocial Characteristics Scale for Gifted Secondary School Students consisting of 20 items and 4 factors is valid and reliable.

The purpose of this research is to assess the decision making characteristics within the context of fear of negative evaluation and achievement goals. In this research, relational screening model has been used since the purpose is to present the relationships between the determined variables. The samples for the research consist of 335 high school students in total from Istanbul’s different high schools in 2017-2018 academic year, of which 174 are girls and 161 are boys. For gathering the research data, ‘Personal Information Form’, ‘Decision-Making Scale’, ‘Fear of Negative Evaluation Scale’, and ‘Achievement Goal Scale’ have been taken advantage of. Based on the findings, it is understood that there are significant relationships between high school students’ decision making sub-dimension and their fear of negative evaluation scores. Nonetheless, there are significant relationships between achievement goals and complacency, panic, and copping-out scores. AlsoIn addition, it is seen that the fear of negative evaluation is a predictive variable in all decision making sub-dimensions. On the other hand, it is found out that achievement goals significant predictive in only self-esteem in decision making and vigilance scores. These results have been discussed based on the findings in the literature, and various suggestions have been made for both practitioners and researchers.

In this study, it is aimed to investigate the relationship between personality structures and anger expression styles of water sports. The population of the study consist of (swimming, underwater rugby, water polo, triathlon, sailing) 104 men and 103 women total 207 adult water sport athletes. In this study, Social-Demographic Information Form, Big Five Personality Questionnaire and Trait Anger and Anger Expression Style Scale prepared by the researcher were applied for athletes. It has been realized that personality traits and anger expression styles have significantly related each other. Extroversion has a meaningful relationship with trait anger, anger-in, anger-out. Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism were found to be significantly different from all anger subdimension. Openness has a meaningful relationship with anger management. Agreeableness and Neuroticism have a meaningful relationship with gender. Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism have a meaningful relationship with age. Anger-in, Conscientiousness and Neuroticism have a meaningful relationship with living places. Conscientiousness has a meaningful relationship with education status. Anger-management, Extroversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism have a meaningful relationship with income level. Agreeableness has a meaningful relationship with sports. As a result of the research, it has been found that there is a significant relationship between personality structures and anger expression styles of the sportsmen engaged in water sports and differences were found between the variables of gender, age, living places, education and income.
